Every Easter Oaxaca City's Institute of Oaxacan Folk Art (Instituto Oaxaqueño de las Artesanias or IOA) hosts one of the most impressive displays of folk art and artesania in Mexico.

The Easter Market features more than 100 artisans. This is not to say that such an initiative is easy to find. It often moves from place to place ... and in 2013 the ephemeral market takes place in the Conzatti Park from March 22-31.

Planeta.com's Ron Mader has lived in Oaxaca since 2001 and documented this particular market since 2006, taking photos (always with permission) of the artisans and posting them on Flickr. Flickr pages include the artisans' names and villages and any information they care to share with the world. Photos are not taken of those who do not want their picture taken.
